This is an appeal from a grant of Defendant-Appellee Joe Babkiewicz’s motion for judgment on the pleadings entered in the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut (Thompson, /.). Because this matter comes to us on appeal from a judgment on the pleadings, we rely on the complaint, the answer, any written documents attached to them, and any matter of which the court can take judicial notice for the factual background of the case. See, e.g., Faconti v. Potter, 242 Fed.Appx. 775, 777 (2d Cir.2007) (unpublished).
