This case is about a police officer's response to a triggered burglar alarm at a family's home that resulted in the shooting of two pet dogs, one of which died. Plaintiffs are the six members of the Chastang Family who each sue Defendant Gilad Levy ("Deputy Levy "), the officer responsible, for damages under 42 U.S.C. § 1983 for violating their Fourth Amendment right against unreasonable seizure.
