One C. A. Jones, of Christopher, Franklin county, Illinois, while the owner and operator of a garage in said city, became indebted to the Valier State Bank in the sum of $3,235. To secure this indebtedness, he delivered to said bank seven promissory notes, in varying sums, aggregating said principal sum. Said notes were signed by the said C. A. Jones, and all of them purported to be signed by his wife, Emma Jones.
