A jury convicted the defendant, Paul Angelí, of sexual assault in the second degree in violation of General Statutes (Rev to 1989) § 53a-71 (a) (l)1 and risk of injury to a child in violation of General *323Statutes (Rev. to 1989) § 53-21.2 The defendant appealed from the judgment of conviction to the Appellate Court, which affirmed the judgment of the trial court.
