Plaintiff and respondent, as the vendor in a contract for the sale of’ land, brought this action to reform a contract and to declare it canceled or to rescind it. The answer of defendants and appellants, the vendees, sought specific performance as to all the land except a particular quarter (as to which the title was claimed to have failed) upon the-payment of the contract price, less a proportionate deduction.
