I. Garfield Street, in the city of Davenport, lies east and west, and intersects with, but does not extend farther east than, Brady Street, which lies in a somewhat northeasterly and southwesterly direction. On the evening of ** ° March 6, 1926, appellee, Margaret Altfilisch, n while m the act of crossing Brady Street to the east from the northwest corner of the intersection, was struck by a Ford automobile driven by Harvey Wessel, knocked to the pavement, and permanently injured.
