Pro se petitioner Eric Edwards (“Edwards”), who is currently incarcerated at Sing Sing Correctional Facility in New York (“Sing Sing”), seeks a writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254 (“ § 2254”). Edwards was convicted in New York State Supreme Court, New York County (the “Trial Court”) of Assault in the First Degree, in violation of New York Penal Law § 120.10(1).
