In 1893 J. H. Pank & Co. were carrying on the business of making and selling malt, and had a malthouse and warehouse in Chicago. They executed two notes on October 21 and November 1 of that year, payable to their own order, and endorsed them and raised money on them. Among other collaterals to the notes they endorsed and delivered a warehouse receipt of the National Storage Company for six thousand bushels of malt stored in bin No. 1 at warehouse A, being the warehouse of Pank & Co.
