This is a suit brought by appellant for dower in the lands of her deceased husband, William Goodrum, who died on the 13th of October, 1886, leaving a will in which he bequeathed to the appellant a policy of insurance upon his life for two thousand dollars, expressly in lieu of dower in his estate. In February, 1887, about three and a half months after the testator’s death, the money was collected on the policy by the executor of the will and paid to the appellant.
