Pursuant to the Civil Rights Attorney’s Fee Awards Act of 1976, Pub.L. No. 94-559 [hereinafter “1976 Act”], plaintiff has moved for attorneys’ fees and expenses incurred in the successful litigation of this action. In an earlier opinion, this court held that defendants had infringed plaintiff Aumiller’s first amendment rights in failing, to renew his^teaching contract “because of his statements on the subject of homosexuality which appeared in three newspaper articles.” Aumiller v.
