This was an action brought by Electa W. Yarnell, in the circuit court of Christian county, against James Wooley, on the following promissory note:

“$620.00. — One year after date I promise to pay to John P. Spaulding or order Six Hundred and Twenty Dollars, with interest at eight per cent. J. g. Wooley.

Pana, III., Nov. 2, 1869.”

Endorsements on the note: “Bec’d Nov. 2, 1870, $120.00 on within note.” “Bec’d Sept. 29, 1870, the interest on the within note to Nov. 2, 1870.” “Without recourse, — John P. Spaulding.”
