OPINION
PRICE, Judge.
Applicant filed this post-conviction application for a writ of habeas corpus in the trial court, which was then forwarded to this Court pursuant to Article 11.07 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure. Tex.Code Crim. Proc. Ann. art. 11.07 (Vernon Supp. 1997).1 In 1989, Applicant was convicted of *645involuntary manslaughter and sentenced to ten years in prison. No appeal was taken from this conviction.
