This writ of error brings up for review a judgment for the defendant in error in an action brought against him on the 29th day of April, 1879, for the value of certain cotton which came to his hands, as an assistant special agent of the Treasury Department, in the year 1865, and which, it is alleged, he has not accounted for to' the plaintiff, but converted to his own use.
