The appellee, hereinafter designated as the Abilene Bank, sued the appellant, hereinafter designated as the Merkel Bank, to recover $16,554.63.
In May, 1920, and prior thereto, the two banks were correspondents, that is to say, they sent-items to each other for collection and money for deposit, and maintained accounts with each other. For some time prior to such date the S. S. S.
