In 2009, Gregory T. Walsh’s driver’s license was permanently revoked because of his DUI manslaughter conviction. Five years later, after his release from prison, he sought early reinstatement of his driving privileges, petitioning for a “hardship license” under section 322.271, Florida Statutes. During the administrative hearing on his petition, he admitted to drinking alcohol in the past five years, including beer in the previous three months.
