The defendant is the Mayor of the Village of New Paltz *606charged with solemnizing marriages for individuals who had not obtained marriage licenses.
By notice of motion dated March 24, 2004, the defendant has moved to dismiss the information charging him with multiple counts of the crime of solemnizing marriages without licenses in violation of sections 13 and 17 of the Domestic Relations Law.
