THOMPSON, District Judge.

The plaintiff sues to recover damages in the sum of $400,000, alleged to have been suffered through—

“a conflagration in wliieli were burnt, consumed, destroyed, or damaged a largo part of plaintiff's buildings, with the machinery, tools, fitting, and appliances, and stock, raw material, and material manufactured and in course of manufacture, contained in and about the same.”
