NUGENT, Judge.

Frederick Haynes petitions for a writ of prohibition to prevent respondent Judge Bellamy from taking any action in State v. Haynes, Case No. CR 386-516F. He charges that Judge Bellamy lacks jurisdiction because he failed to comply with the Uniform Mandatory Disposition of Detain-ers Law, §§ 217.450 — 217.485. 1 A preliminary writ was issued on October 19, 1987. We now quash that writ.

We must first determine whether Haynes is a person who may avail himself of the detainers law.
