Plaintiffs James K. Genden and Alma Koppedraijer (“the Gendens”) brought this securities class action against Merrill, Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith (“Merrill Lynch”) alleging that defendant failed to disclose that mortgage subsidy bonds contained in Municipal Investment Trust Funds (“MITFs”) marketed by defendants were subject to the possibility of special mandatory early redemption.
