OPINION
2Per curiam
The appellant, Alex Melvin Wade, was convicted by a jury of forgery. The appellant pled true to the allegations contained in an enhancement paragraph of the indictment, and the jury assessed punishment at confinement for 20 years and a fine of $10,000. See TexJPenal Code Ann. §§ 12.42(a)(3), 32.21 (Vernon Supp.2000). 1
The court imposed sentence on April 30, 1997. The appellant filed a timely motion for new trial which the trial court denied on June 20, 1997. The appellant filed notice of appeal on July 29,1997.
