These two appeals arise from separate incidents in which this defendant was apprehended by police while driving her motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicating liquor, in violation of General Statutes § 14-227a. The first arrest occurred on August 22, 1983. On the basis of that arrest, the defendant applied for admission into the statutory pretrial alcohol edu*617cation program; General Statutes § 14-227b; and was admitted on October 5, 1983.
