Petitioners-appellants appeal from the circuit court’s decision denying appellant adult education instructors tenure under the teacher tenure act. MCL 38.71 et seq.; MSA 15.1971 et seq. We affirm.

Background

Appellant instructors filed a petition with the State Tenure Commission seeking tenure under the teacher tenure act. The petition alleged that they had taught in the Bay City Public Schools’ adult education program during the 1976-1977 and 1977-1978 school years, the terms consisting of two 16-week semesters per year.
