This case concerns computation of the two-year probationary requirement for acquiring tenure under the teacher tenure act. MCL 38.81; MSA 15.1981. We are asked by defendant school district to use the "anniversary date” method long used by the State Tenure Commission. Plaintiff, on the other hand, urges that we adopt the "substantial compliance” approach approved by a majority of the Court of Appeals panel in this case.
