This was a bill in chancery, in the nature of a creditor’s bill, filed in the Logan county circuit court, on the 24th day of February, 1868, by Helm, the appellant, against the appellees, being the widow and children of James M. Cantrell, deceased.

The material allegations of the bill are, that, on the 26th day of September, 1856, George W. Rowell and said James M. Cantrell, being co-partners, under the firm name of George W. Rowell & Co., and as such, indebted to Wadsworth & Wells, merchants, in Chicago, in the sum of $586.34, made their promissory note, under said firm name, for that amount,…
