¶30 (dissenting) — In this case, we are asked what standard and factors are to be applied when a trial court determines whether a permanent order of protection should be terminated. The majority adopts 11 factors from a New Jersey decision, which was based on that state’s substantially different protection order statute. I believe we should articulate a standard and factors based on our own state’s statute and recognized public policy of protecting domestic violence victims.
