Alan L. Friedman (claimant) appeals an order of the Pennsylvania Crime Victim’s Compensation Board (Board) denying his claim for out-of-pocket expenses incurred as a result of the death of his wife.

On June 12, 1985, claimant submitted a claim with the Board pursuant to Sections 477-479.5 of The Administrative Code of 1929 (Code), Act of April 9, 1929, P.L. 177, as amended, added by Section 2 of the Act of July 9, 1976, P.L. 574, as amended, 71 P.S. §§180-*3477.4—180-7.18, seeking reimbursement of approximately $20,000 of funeral and housekeeping/child care expenses 1…
