Plaintiff Therl Taylor filed three lawsuits raising a hodgepodge of claims against state prison officials. To give just three examples, he complained that an employee in the prison mailroom put staples in his Christmas cards, that another employee made poor-quality photocopies for him, and that still other prison officials violated the copyright laws by screening movies for inmates. A federal magistrate judge found his claims meritless; the district court agreed and dismissed all three actions.
