NATURE OF CASE

John A. Logan brought this action for declaratory judgment in Lancaster County District Court against the Department of Correctional Services of the State of Nebraska (Department); Harold W. Clarke, director of the Department; and Frank Hopkins, warden (all three collectively referred to as “the defendants”). Logan requested a determination concerning how three sentences imposed on him by other Nebraska courts should be interpreted.
