This is a motion for a protective order in the so-called “Love Canal” lawsuit, a massive environmental pollution action commenced by the United States in December 1979, in which plaintiffs seek in excess of $45 million in damages for violations of various anti-pollution laws and for common law nuisance in the City of Niagara Falls, New York.
