The appellant, the law firm of Parrillo, Weiss & O’Halloran (Parrillo, Weiss), appeals from the December 5, 1997, order of the circuit court of Du Page County imposing Supreme Court Rule 137 (155 Ill. 2d R. 137) sanctions in the amount of $5,303.48. On appeal, Parrillo, Weiss contends that (1) the award of sanctions was an abuse of the trial court’s discretion; and (2) the trial court erred in failing to hold an evidentiary hearing to determine the appropriate sanction amount.
