Police Officer Anthony Dwyer and his fellow officers interrupted an armed burglary and robbery of a McDonald’s restaurant at 3 o’clock in the morning. Defendant and his cohorts had broken into the premises with a sledgehammer and were terrorizing employees at gunpoint when the uniformed officers arrived. Defendant fled to the darkened roof of the restaurant through a hatch and Officer Dwyer followed immediately behind him.
