The American Telephone and Telegraph Company (“AT & T”) initiated this action against MCI Communications Corporation (“MCI”) and Pioneer TeleTechnologies, Inc. (“Pioneer”) (collectively the “defendants”) for alleged violations of the deceptive practices provisions of section 43(a) the Lanham Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1125(a), and violations of the New Jersey common law of unfair competition, interference with prospective economic advantage and product disparagement.
