This is a proceeding under the workmen’s compensation act. Panasuk received injuries arising out of and in the course of his employment in the service of the Taunton Wool Stock Company. A splinter became embedded in his hand, resulting *591in swelling, pain and a “palmer abscess,” which required a surgical operation, and thereafter cleansing and dressing for several days.
