This is an action by the beneficiary to recover $2,000 on a policy of insurance on the life of Marland D. Kinney. The plaintiff is the widow of the insured. The defendant is a *24fraternal and mutual organization, which insured the lives of its members and is incorporated under the laws of the state of Iowa. The policy was issued in April, 1902, and the insured died in May, 1903. The complaint, besides alleging the making of the insurance contract and the death of the insured, the submission of due proofs of death, and the refusal of the defendant to pay, further alleges that Marland D.
