Northwinds Apartments (“Northwinds”) appeals from an order awarding plaintiff, Rebecca Friday, (“Ms. Friday” or “tenant”) treble damages and attorney’s fees after a bench trial held 8 October 2001. On appeal, Northwinds contends that the trial court erred in five ways: I. By finding that Northwinds violated N.C. Gen. Stat. § 42-46; II. By finding that Northwinds violated the Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices Act (“UDTPA”); III. By finding that Northwinds violated the North Carolina Debt Collection Act (“NCDCA”); IV.
