This case came before the Supreme Court on December 7,1999, pursuant to an order directing the parties to appear and show cause why the issues raised on appeal should not be summarily decided. The plaintiff, Alan F. Burns (Burns), has appealed a final judgment dismissing defendant H. Randell Howard (Howard) from the case and a final judgment granting the motion to dismiss of defendant, Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company (Connecticut Mutual).
