You have asked whether a police officer, when issuing a summons to a motorist for violating a provision of the Vehicle and Traffic Law, is authorized to provide that motorist with an envelope containing a schedule prepared by the judge of the court in which the summons is returnable, listing the fines imposed for various traffic infractions.
