I. INTRODUCTION

On October 26, 2011, plaintiffs intellectual Ventures I LLC and Intellectual Ventures II LLC (collectively “plaintiffs”) filed a complaint alleging patent infringement against defendants Sendai Nikon Corporation (“Sendai”), Nikon Imaging Japan Inc., Nikon Americas Inc., and Nikon, Inc.
