ROSS, Circuit Judge.
Willard N. Gilkerson brought this action against Toastmaster, Inc. (Toastmaster) claiming that Toastmaster discharged him in violation of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), 29 U.S.C. §§ 621-34 (1976). In accordance with the jury’s verdict, the district court 1 entered judgment in favor of Gilkerson and awarded him actual and liquidated damages. Toastmaster appeals from the judgment and from the order of the district court denying its motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict, or, in the alternative, motion for a new trial.
