Kincheloe, Judge:
This suit is for the recovery of certain customs duty alleged to have been irnproperly assessed on an importation of cotton gloves from Germany. The collector of customs at New York classified the merchandise as gloves, wholly or in chief value of cotton or other vegetable fiber, made of fabric knit on a warp-knitting machine, and assessed duty thereon at 60 per centum ad valorem under paragraph 915 of the Tariff Act of 1930, plus an additional duty of 10 cents per pound on the cotton contained therein having a staple of one and one-eighth inches or more in length under…
