The injury to plaintiff's intestate, James Kallansrud, from which he afterward died, occurred on July 9, 1942. The child, nine and one-half years old, was coasting in a coaster wagon on Dakota Street in Fort Dodge, a street running east and west. Intersecting it at right angles and running north and south is Seventh Street. On the day of the accident defendant, who lived north of Fort Dodge, drove his car south on Seventh Street to the intersection of that street with Dakota Street.
