State v. Strickland

The bill of indictment contains two counts: (1) “Did unlawfully, wilfully, feloniously and maliciously assault, beat and wound one H. M. Rowland with a deadly weapon, to wit, metallic knucks, by waylaying, and otherwise in a secret manner with intent, him the said II. M.
