This action was brought by eight adolescent males and one adult male alleging sexual abuse by Father Ronald Fontenot while he was employed by Deaconess Hospital and CompCare, Inc., in Spokane. The Diocese of Lafayette, Louisiana, its bishop and vicar general, Bishop Frey and Monsignor Larroque (collectively referred to as the Diocese), were also named as defendants. Plaintiffs allege the Diocese maintained and negligently supervised its priest during his residence at the Jesuit House in Spokane. The Diocese moved to dismiss for lack of in personam jurisdiction.
