OPINION

MURRAY, Justice.

The applicant, John Carillo, appeals to this court from a judgment of the Superior Court denying his application for post-conviction relief. In his application, Carillo claims, pursuant to G.L.1956 (1969 Reenactment) § 10-9.1 — 1(a)(1), as enacted by P.L. 1974, ch. 220, § 3, that his convictions for murder and conspiracy to murder were obtained in violation of the Constitutions of the United States and the State of Rhode Island.
