Timothy A. Lambert was charged with one count of indecent liberties with a child pursuant to section 11 — 4(a)(2) of the Criminal Code of 1961 (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1981, ch. 38, par. 11—4(a)(2)). The indictment charged, “He, a person of the age of 17 years and upwards, performed an act of deviate sexual conduct upon *** a child under the age of 16 years, in that he placed his mouth upon the sex organ of [the child].” A jury in the circuit court of Peoria County found the defendant guilty.
