Plaintiff Nomura Holding America, Inc. (“Nomura” or “Plaintiff’) initiated this action against Federal Insurance Company (“Federal” or “Defendant”) on August 21, 2013. The parties’ dispute arises out of Federal’s denial of coverage under insurance policies purchased by Nomura for claims related to five lawsuits initiated between 2011 and 2012 against Nomura, its subsidiaries, or its directors and officers; the lawsuits arose out of various securitiza-tions of residential mortgage-backed securities.
