We granted the petition of the Estate of Joseph E. Buonanno, Sr. (petitioner or estate), for writ of certiorari to review an order of the Probate Court of the Town of South Kingstown (Probate Court) permitting Emhart Industries, Inc. (Emhart), to file a claim against the estate out of time. The estate contends that the Probate Court was without authority to enter the order because Emhart’s motion was filed more than nine years after the estate’s assets had been distributed.
