Candler, Justice.

(After stating the foregoing facts.) When a son of the defendant was on the stand as a witness, the trial judge refused to permit the son to answer a question as to whether on another occasion the deceased had cut the son. The defendant contends that, if the witness had been permitted to respond to the question,' he would have answered that the deceased cut him, and that the reputation of the' deceased for violence was bad.
