The important question to be considered and decided in these causes is, whether the assignment upon its face is illegal and void, as being in violation of the statute, or as intended to delay, hinder, or defraud the creditors of Grover and Gunn in the collection of their debts. Before I approach this question, however, it is necessary to examine some other points, which have been made by the counsel on the argument!
