The issue in this medical malpractice case is whether a radiologist’s failure to personally communicate his suspicions of cancer after reviewing a patient’s ultrasound proximately caused the patient’s death by depriving her of years of oncological treatment.. The radiologist asserted he. was not a .proximate cause, of the patient’s death because the emergency room physician testified that, even had he been aware of the radiologist’s findings, he would not have altered the patient’s course of treatment.
